Caity Thompson Founder/LMHC

Caity Thompson is a former professional athlete and Licensed Psychotherapist based in New York, NY. She works with millennials looking overcome feelings of anxiety, self-doubt or past trauma. Many of her clients are high-achieving adults who are driven and have lofty expectations for themselves but find they are feeling overwhelmed with the weight of their expectations, drive for achievement, fears of failure, people-pleasing behaviors and struggle with self-confidence. Her clients frequently described themselves as over-thinkers, perfectionists, and feel paralyzed with decision-making and beginning projects.

Caity’s sports background and training have led to her having a methodical, goal-oriented, results-driven therapy style that is personalized for each client. Caity’s style is rooted in Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and she has training in many different types of therapy including Mindfulness, Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR). Caity pulls from different styles depending on her clients' goals, needs, and preferences for a uniquely curated therapy experience.

Caity believes the cornerstone of the therapeutic process is the working relationship between the client and therapist. Caity offers an alliance free of judgment and “suppose too’s.” She meets her clients where they are at, accepts them for who they are, and works to help get them where they want and hope to be.

Caity has an online therapy practice. She offers virtual video sessions to help make therapy more accessible.
