Sarah Sowards LMHC

Sarah is a trauma-informed licensed mental health counselor who works with adolescents, adults, couples, and families. She specializes in high-acuity mental health concerns, substance use disorders, trauma, anxiety, and depression.

Her therapeutic approach is integrative, drawing from EMDR, motivational interviewing, mindfulness-based practices, positive psychology, somatic strategies, IFS, and CBT/DBT-informed skills. She incorporates psychoeducation, self-compassion practices, and the thoughtful use of metaphors and humor to support insight and growth.

In addition to her individual work, Sarah has experience with couples, families, and group therapy, particularly within the context of substance use and emotional dysregulation.

Sarah strives to create a safe, authentic, and nonjudgmental environment grounded in genuine connection. Her goal is to help clients recognize their strengths, build resilience, and move toward the healthiest and most empowered versions of themselves.
